Having been born in Rochester, New York, and raised in El Salvador, I have always been passionate about sports and the path I took. Starting out as a swimmer, I finished up competing in squash for the El Salvador national team. I was introduced to the sport of triathlon in 1999 and was instantly hooked, racing in 10 Ironman triathlons and finishing in the 70.3 Ironman World Championships twice. I earned an All-American Honorable Mention in the USA Triathlon in 2011 and 2014.
Alongside my life as an athlete, I worked as a junior investment advisor, but I very soon found that my true calling lay in coaching. I have spent over 25 years coaching elite and non-elite athletes alike. My coaching influences were from the C.H.E.K. Institute, NSCA, GREY Institute, NASM, and the School of Applied Kinesiology. I joined DBC in 2016 and am in the process of developing my own approaches to coaching.
Endurance Cartel, with which I hope to help busy professionals train smart and perform strong, combining strength and endurance in injury-free, efficient programs. My coaching philosophy rests in the belief that true strength is built on the foundation of both mental and physical grit. I also am a host at the Endurance Cartel Podcast, which talks about whatever life throws at man and building performance for life.
For expert insights, listen to the Endurance Cartel Podcast. I talk about mental toughness, injury prevention, and high-performance training for busy professionals.
